Tasked with transforming commodity items into vibrant products rich with storytelling, personality, and brand communication for Wild Alaskan Company, we needed to cut through the monotony of direct-to-consumer competitors.
Wild Alaskan Company shipping box now greets customers at their doorstep with sophisticated color and illustration. Bold logo marks and dynamic salmon artwork capture the essence of the client’s brand ethos and the exceptional quality of their product. Inside, a printed packing insert showcases the fishing areas where Wild Alaskan sources their seafood along with key places in their brand story.
Building a brand foundation with an updated logo system that captured the family heritage, while addressing the needs of their expanding product portfolio and brand was first and foremost. A brand communication system that would grow with them as they looked to new opportunities.
In contrast to the limited brand colors of the shipping box, the packaged products inside pop with a shock of harmonious color. Each individual label is unique with 15 custom species illustrations, 17 product icons, and a graphic color-blocking system which simplifies choosing meal options in your freezer at a quick glance. Clearly highlighting the key traits of each product, the label design makes different cuts and portions easy-to-understand – no need for a fishmonger to decipher. Optimizing the limited label real estate, the handling, preparation, and nutrition information is clear, and the packaging system makes it convenient for Wild Alaskan facilities to pick, pack, and ship the seafood directly to consumers.
