Pike Brewing provided us the unique opportunity to work with Seattle’s most historic brewery. But, since they opened their doors in 1989, the beer scene has changed incredibly and consumers are less and less interested in history. We worked with Pike leadership to take a hard look at every facet of the brand, as well as what current beer drinkers want and expect. The resulting brand and packaging is clean and bold, pairing perfectly with their rejuvenated recipes. We also equipped the sales team with more materials than they’ve ever had, in order to better support sales across on- and off-premise accounts.
Before putting pen to paper on new designs, it was important that we fully assessed the current state of the brand. We audited and examined all existed branding, packaging, marketing and sales data. We also took a deep dive into competitors, retail accounts, the beer portfolio and recipes to identify potential opportunities in the market. These initial exercises informed branding and packaging design decisions and launched new beer releases.
Previous branding:
Historically, the Pike brand and packaging has mirrored the clutter of their downtown location. In order to announce that the liquid was different, we knew we needed to clean up the brand’s appearance as well.
